Minicast 1-As the Ferris Wheel Turns: “Ratings”

In the first ever Idiot Box Experts Minicast, Billy explains exactly how television ratings work and why you should care about them. If you’d rather read it than listen to it, then here’s a brief synopsis (But trust us, it’ll be a lot more fun if you read as you listen. Think of it as an audio book full of delicious knowledge):
TV Rating- Percent of TV households watching a show out of all television households
TV Share- Percent of TV households watching a show out of all television households that were watching TV at that time.
In this minicast, Billy goes into a little more detail and explains that not all ratings are created equal (Curious? Here’s a hint: television advertisers have an age bias). He also talks a little bit about mid-season replacements.
Do you miss Paul during this minicast? Fear not dear listener/viewer/reader. He’ll be back with Billy in 7 short days for the next episode of the Idiot Box Experts. Until then, may all your favorite shows be new this week.
